ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Arrive in Flagstaff, Arizona
Meet tour owners, Dwayne & Cindy Bublitz. Enjoy the cool, clean air and this evening take a cruise down Route 66.
Day 2 – Sedona (Mileage – 177 Roundtrip)
Your tour begins this morning through the pine-covered forest of the Mogollan Rim, descending 5,000 feet to the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. Explore this famous movie-making town with its many upscale shops before winding back up the switchbacks of Oak Creek Canyon to the cool, high country of Northern Arizona.
Day 3 – Sunset Crater Volcano & Wupatki National Monuments
(Mileage – 130 Roundtrip)
Today you will explore the very volcanic landscape the Apollo astronauts used to hone their skills before their lunar moon walks. It’s then onto the ancient Indian cliff dwellings of Wupatki National Monument. Have lunch at a famous Navajo trading post and treat yourself to a delicious Navajo taco. Enjoy a spectacular view of the 12,000 foot high San Francisco Peaks as you climb back up the rim to the ponderosa pines of Flagstaff.
Day 4 – Grand Canyon National Park (Mileage – 195 Roundtrip)
After a beautiful drive through aspen and mountain meadows, the scenery goes “grand” with a visit to Grand Canyon National Park. A cruise along the east rim of the canyon is a great way to see all the spectacular view points. After an unforgettable day of breath-taking scenery, drive back to Flagstaff to end your tour. For those competing for Bloomington Gold Tour Certification, receive your award if you completed the 500 miles with no mechanical failures. Your classic Corvette has proven it’s a real working automobile, not just a bunch of matching parts.
